During his 43-year career, John M. (Jack) Hughes has been instrumental in closing over 45 Mergers and Acquisition transactions and an equal number of financing transactions for companies of all sizes.  He is a recognized financial expert, and has advised CEOs on the entire life cycle of corporate finance, from start-ups to IPOs, to corporate restructurings.  He is also a well-regarded expert in ESOP corporate financing.

Previously he served as the Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer and Senior Vice President of Alion Science and Technology Corporation from October 2002 to February 2008.  Mr. Hughes also served as an Executive Vice President of Alion Science and Technology Corporation from September 2005 to February 2008, where he was instrumental in the founding of Alion and its rapid growth from $200M to $750M in five years. 

Since July 1998 Mr. Hughes Co-Founded Phoenix Financial & Advisory Services LLC and served as its Principal, where he was responsible for providing strategic planning, operations, financing, merger/acquisition, marketing/communications and business development support to small and mid-sized companies in the technology, media and entertainment industries. 

Jack served as Principal Consultant of HKSBS, LLC.

Jack also served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of BTG Inc., where he was responsible for business and operations management, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions and arranging financing.  He conducted their IPO in 1994 and directed the rapid growth of the company over a six-year period from $50 million to nearly $600 million in revenues. 

Prior to BTG, he held senior executive positions with ManTech International Corp in the operations, administration and financial areas supporting the growth of the company from $4 million to $200 million in annual revenues. 

He has been on the board Unanet Technologies, Inc. since December 22, 2011.  Jack also serves as a Director of NetBase Corporation, and he serves on the HKSBS advisory board.  Throughout his career he has mostly focused on the Government Services industry. 

Jack holds a BS in Economics and Business from Frostburg State University and performed graduate course work in contract formation, government procurement and financial management.  He has completed post-graduate studies in Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions, Contract Law and Negotiations and Government Procurement.
